DRESS LIKE IT'S 1969

Now I love vintage patterns. I try to collect as many as I can. Especially the 1940's and 1950's. I wasn't even a twinkle in my parents eye at that time but I have an appreciation for the fashion of that time. With Simplicity 1059 caught my eye not only for the pattern design but also for some pattern hacking i had in mind. “Buy and wear what makes you happy"....John Januzzi This is one of the Jiffy dress patterns! It only has two to three main pattern pieces. The pattern includes a V-neck dress with long sleeves, or sleeveless and optional sash or scarf. I chose to cut the size 16 and opted for the sash and long sleeves. I really was torn as to use the bishop sleeve per the pattern or do trumpet sleeves. I thought it would look good either way. After taking a poll i decided to go with the bishop sleeve. This pattern was very easy to put together. I used a cotton fabric. I can't remember where I bought the fabric because I have had it in my stash for app
